HRFC Update 240326

Hello Members,
A quick reminder of the upcoming events that I referred to in my previous email on March 2nd. If you can make it to any of these events, don’t  forget to claim your bonus tickets in the end of year prize draw.
  • Hunter Valley Gliding Club:   The HVGC will be holding their “Vintage Regatta” again this Easter and HRFC Members are invited to attend. An information flyer for this event is attached.
  • Warbirds over Scone  2026: This event is scheduled for March 27-29th at Scone Airport and members are reminded that discounted tickets are available online from Paul Bennet Airshows by quoting the promo code “HUNTERFLYERS”. For further information about the event and ticket purchases, use this link.  <https://paulbennetairshows.com.au/calendar/2026/warbirds-over-scone>.
  • Swan Hill Fly-out: A club Fly-out to Swan Hill is being planned for a date (still to be confirmed) most likely some time in May. This should be a good one and will take in the Lake Boga Flying Boat Museum, Lasa Light Show and other attractions in the region. Here are a couple of links to wet the appetite.    <https://www.flyingboat.org.au/>  <https://www.pioneersettlement.com.au/Home> If you would like to participate in this one or if you have any questions, I suggest that you talk to either Keith Rule or Keith McGeachie ASAP.
  • Aerial Golf: Following the last “Club Poker Run”, there was a suggestion that we should consider a game of “Arial Golf” and we are working on this one. No date yet but I will let you know when we have more to talk about.
On a couple of other matters,
  1. There will be a WT9 Dynamic from the Sunshine Coast Aero Club at our club on Thursday (This week) so if you are interested in checking it out, here is your chance. It will be here to run some demonstration flights so if you are interested in taking a flight, I believe the cost is $150.00 for a forty-minute demo.
  2. Plans for the “Aerial Golf” event (mentioned above) are progressing and we intend to have a trial run shortly at Peter Marheine’s property at Yarrawa (Near Denman). The test run will be just one hole and probably let’s say three or four aircraft so if you are interested, give me a call or drop me a note. It should be a bit of fun. Something that we need to complete our kit though, is a couple of old golf clubs (putters) so if you happen to have any that you don’t use any more let me know.
That is it so thanks and regards.
