Hello Members,
A Quick reminder that a decision was made at the November meeting that the December monthly meeting would be cancelled this year due to the Christmas Lunch and the CASA AvSafety Seminar both being held only last weekend and the closeness to Christmas. So……NO MEETING THIS SUNDAY,
I would like to thank those members that attended the functions last week and for those that were not at the Christmas Lunch, here are the prize winners for this year:
- First prize for the most bonus points earned went to Dave Caban (67 bonus points),
- In Second place was Alan Tindall (52 bonus points),
- Third place went to Keith Rule (46 bonus points).
- We then held a random draw of those members in attendance and that was won by Peter Cook.
Congratulations to the winners and a big “THANK YOU” to all of the members that had earned bonus points throughout the year for their support of the club and the various sponsors that support the event. As a matter of interest, there were 922 bonus points issued over the 2025 period.
Don’t forget too, that council will be working on the taxiways next week. The following reminder was received this morning from Airport Management:
“Dear All,
Council will be sealing the following areas on Cessnock Airport December 18, 2025, weather permitting:
- Taxiway A between A1 and A3.
- Taxiway A2 from the Western Apron to RWY 17/35 will remain open. However, backtracking on the runway will be required to reach either end.
Additionally, Taxiway C will be closed for approximately 4 hours, from 06:30 to 10:30 local time.
- Taxiway C will not be available during this period. If you intend to operate your aircraft from the SW hangar ( De Havilland Dr ) area during the closed period, it will need to be moved and parked on either the Eastern or Western Apron prior to 0600 18 Dec 2025. Please advise Airport operations (airport@cessnock.nsw.gov.au) in writing if you require this option prior to the 15 Dec 2025.
